Spiking Out Sepsis Through Awareness, Education, and Action

“In honor of Jalisa Barnes—survivor, scholar, and inspiration. Turning tragedy into purpose.” The Spike Sepsis Foundation was founded to honor Jalisa Barnes’ incredible journey. This foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising awareness about sepsis, supporting survivors, and promoting education to improve hospital response and prevention. Through community programs, fundraising events, and educational outreach, we’re working to ensure that no life is lost to sepsis unnecessarily—and that every survivor has the support they need to rebuild.

Knowledge Saves Lives

Sepsis can affect anyone at any time. Recognizing it early is the difference between life and loss. Through educational outreach, healthcare partnerships, and accessible learning materials, we empower communities to identify sepsis fast and respond effectively.
